The 6 Steps

6 simple steps to dramatically improving your bidding efforts

You might already know where to look for public tenders, but don’t seem to have much success in responding to them. If you’ve only recently even heard of tendering, then you’re not alone – a surprising amount of people haven’t – and you probably don’t even know where to start.

No matter your stage on the tendering journey, these 6 (or so) steps will help you. From finding and choosing the best possible opportunities for your team, through to putting together a response that gives you the best possible chance of converting your bid into a win, there’s something here for you.

Of course, there are no guarantees. This is guidance, not instruction…but it’s guidance that has been put together by someone with 20 years of experience bidding for public sector work, for big and small teams, and has learned a lot of lessons on the way.

Read through them all. Add your own thoughts and ideas. Build your own process. Come back often and see what we’ve added.

And don’t forget to check out our resources, where you’ll find an ever-growing list of useful videos, downloads and online services that will help you make your tendering efforts even more productive.

Just one thing to be aware of

The detail in this section should be enough for you to understand each of the steps and why they’re important, but they are just a starting point. Be sure to check through our other content on a regular basis for more detailed guidance, supporting downloads and videos as we add them to the site!
