Design and build of 7 new sites under an umbrella website

The Education Training Collective (ETC) is a group of FE Colleges and Independent Training Providers within the North-East of England. The group currently has turnover circa £32 million. We are seeking a supplier to create a suite of 7 new websites for the following educational sites, including the design, hosting and integration into our current systems, including 1 website for the Etc. to offer as a host for the group.

What we like

With larger projects such as this, there is lots of scope for smaller suppliers to add tonnes of value and still be very competitive on pricing. Requirements such as being able to take online payments and the manual integration of their existing system can be dealt with in numerous ways that smaller, more agile organisations might have better solutions for.

There are two obvious warning flags with this opportunity:

1. They ask for financial details, which means that any supplier who has a turnover significantly under the project value might face questions about capability (but that in itself is not a pass or fail for this tender)
2. They ask for three clients where similar work has been done before. Similar here is educational, and multi-site…and ideally both.

This tender comes with a document labelled SQ which contains a list of questions you must pass before you will be accepted for further review. Review this document and be happy that you do pass all of these questions, else any further work you do will be wasted. Note, it is stated that at leas ONE client being from education will constitute a pass.
